Strathburn Care Home

We were delighted to be commissioned to create a mural for the entrance area of this residential home, celebrating both its 25th anniversary and the 70th anniversary of Glenrothes.

Staff and residents contributed ideas for the design, choosing features such as hippos, toadstools and flowers - all inspired by local sculptures - with the Lomond Hills providing a recognisable backdrop.

We aimed to bring the outside in, using vibrant colour to uplift the space, alongside contrasting elements to help those living with dementia better navigate and engage with the artwork.

The space was further enhanced with plants, flowers and seating, creating a relaxed, garden-like setting. The mural provides a colourful and engaging focal point for residents, visitors and staff.
