The Gathering

This was our first public art sculpture, commissioned by Persimmon Homes and developed in collaboration with the Dundee community.

Through a series of workshops, we gathered drawings and inspiration from residents, which informed the final design. We then translated these ideas into a final design which our collaborator Andy from Loch Ness Forge brought to life in steel.

The final piece, The Gathering, is inspired by the plants, birds and animals that exist at Stewarts Loan - both today and historically, before the area was developed. The design is rich in detail and character, encouraging people to look closely and find something new each time.

Fabricated from Corten steel, the sculpture will naturally weather over time, developing warm orange tones and a unique patina that continues to evolve with its environment.

This was a significant and rewarding project for us, and we’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity, the contributions of the local community, and the support and craftsmanship of Loch Ness Forge throughout the process.
